Early Marbles Ideal Hunting Knife, 9'' overall with 4-5/8'' blade marked ''Marble's Gladstone/Mich. U.S.A.'', brass guard, red/black/brass spacers, stag grip, and German silver pommel cap. Introduced in 1899 with its first major production in 1901. One was in the cockpit of the first Trans-Atlantic flight and later carried to every corner of the world. By the 1930s, it was the benchmark of all other hunting knives. In brown leather scabbard with white cotton stitching and single brass rivets. Condition is excellent showing some field use, with nice mellowing tone to stag grip. Est.: $300-$500.
