Early Indian flintlock trade gun with forward facing serpent side plate and square nailed butt plate; .69 cal., 44” round barrel, unmarked barrel and engraved lock plate; full wood stock with an overall untouched out-of-the-attic appearance. This gun is in overall good condition showing a heavy brown patina on metal surfaces, good action, dark bore, early style trigger, brass trigger guard, ferrules and two piece brass butt plate. The stock is in overall good condition showing a heavy patina and some worn raised carving at the top of the wrist with some old losses on the top left side of the stock at the upper tang; old initials “CDK” are carved into the left butt stock; barrel shows three worn proof marks. The serpent side plate is engraved and attractively accomplished. Est.: $5,000-$6,000.
