<B>Early George Washington Autograph Document Signed.</B></I> One page, 6" x 3.25", Mt.Vernon, February 13, 1768. The body of this manuscript, entirely in Washington's hand, incorporates his name and reads, "<I>Borrowed and received from George Washington the sum of Ten pounds Currency which I promise to return when demanded.</B></I>" A signature reading"<I>T.Elzey</B></I>" is below the statement penned by Washington. The borrower was Thomasin Elzey, a vestryman from nearby Truro Parish and a hunting companion of Washington's. The future president's diary entry for February 13, 1768 states that he was fox hunting and names Elzey as a member of his party. Washington's ledger for the same day also records the loan of ten pounds to Elzey. An old 1" split in lower right corner with overall browning as expected. Very good condition with Washington's name clear and prominent. Matted and framed with a 19th century engraving of Washington to an overall size of 15" x 22.5". <BR><BR><B>Important notice
