Title: Complete French Crystal And Bronze Desk Set

Date/Era/Period: 1825-1875 Continental French

Description: French Neoclassical stationery set consisting of a letter opener, envelope holder, ink holder with lid, pen with nib and assorted set. The pieces have not been marked which can make it difficult to attribute to any manufacturer. This is simply the case with all types of pieces dated to the Neoclassical and Empire periods. Overall the condition of the set is good with the exception a small dent on the hinged inkwell set. The fact that I mention that there is a lid with the ink holder is significant and the hinge is notable of its craftsmanship, which was not ordinarily possible at the time.

Condition: All crysal and bronze are crack, hairline and repair free. There is a tiny dent on the top of the cap of hinged inkwell

Origin: I purchased it in Paris, France in 2004

Provenance: N/A
