<B>Early Constitutional Manuscript- Electing the President in Pennsylvania.</B></I> Two page handwritten manuscript dated Wednesday, October 1, 1788, measuring 7.5" x 9". Details the minutes of a meeting between a number of gentlemen from the counties of Pennsylvania, held in order to deliberate on producing representatives in the House of Representatives of the new government, and to fix on proper people to elect a president and vice president. Some of the names mentioned as present are; Benjamin Rush, George Latimer and John Nixon. There are 13 men listed all together. A valuable look at early governmental procedures! <BR><BR>The letter is in good condition with some minor issues visible. The usual folds are present, and the paper has begun to separate on some of the fold lines. No visible acid degradation or foxing. Excellent legibility. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection.
