Early Connecticut Advertising: A Striking 1847-Dated Poster Featuring a Primitive Steam Locomotive. Issued by a Norwich, Connecticut dry goods store called "Wheeler's", it depicts a train loaded with the newest goods from New York arriving for sale. This poster has great graphic appeal as a "period" decorative item, particularly as it is printed on this unusual blue paper. Condition is very good. There is one minor rim tear along the left edge and very slight edge roughness in a few areas. Several very minor traces of staining detract minimally, as the catalog image shows. Original fold lines, probably as distributed, are stable and do not detract. Dimensions: 23.75" x 27".

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
