Early Colt Single Action Army Revolver, #38324, .45 Colt cal., 7-1/2'' barrel, nickel finish, one-piece ivory grips, with three-line three-date patent address (no U.S. marking on frame). Shipped to Schuyler, Hartley & Graham, New York, New York, on May 25, 1878, 50 guns in shipment, with factory letter verifying all features, except barrel length not listed. Condition is fine retaining approx. 85% nickel with losses to topstrap, left side of barrel near muzzle, and forward edges of cylinder. Grips with smooth even wear and mellow toning. Screws were originally niter blue and have toned back to a silvery gray. Cylinder is original to revolver but is a military overrun cylinder with small DFC inspector's markings, as well as small 6191 number behind flute. The letter ''C'' appears on the barrel just forward of arbor, possibly indicating a ''Condemned'' martial pistol. Correct early hammer and second type barrel markings. Action remains crisp, bore is very good to f!
