Early Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver with Rare Fluted Cylinder, #2795, .44 cal., 7-1/2'' barrel, blue and case-hardened finish, iron backstrap, brass triggerguard, original early nickel silver front sight, long one-piece Army type walnut grips. Four-screw frame marked ''Colt's Patent'' to left side, small letter ''l'' to left side of triggerguard behind trigger, barrel address is ''-Address Col. Sam'l Colt New-York U.S.America-''. Mfg'd 1861. Condition is fine retaining 30%+ thinning and toning blue with most vivid blue remaining beneath ramrod and in protected areas. Backstrap has toned brown with some blue beneath upper screws. Frame shows darkening and muted case colors. Triggerguard shows sharp edges and just light knackering. Cylinder retains about 35-40% muted blue mostly in flutes and protected areas. Oil-finished grips show light nicks and minor wear to high edges. All safety pins are present. Action is crisp and tight, bore is near new. Fluted cylinder !
