Early Colt First Model Dragoon percussion revolver, .44 cal., 7-1/2” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood grips, #1922. This gun is in overall good to very good condition showing an even plum brown patinato barrel and cylinder with slight traces of muted original blue with some scattered light erosion spots and pin prick pitting, frame has gone to a silvery tone, also with some scattered light erosion, hammer bolt head and part of shaft on left side of frame has been lost, Colt’s Patent and U.S. visible on frame but no other inspector marks or grip cartouches visible; uncleaned good bore, good action, traces of original silver plating on trigger guard and backstrap; considerable original cylinder scene remaining including “Model USMR” and “Colt’s Patent” roll die around the serial number of the cylinder that matches the frame, barrel assembly, triggerguard and backstrap (loading lever is numbered 32; early small serial numbers including split number around the trigger guard’s front screw; barrel wedge is in backwards and not easily removed; wedge screw
