Exceptional Early Civil War Colt 4th Model 1851 Navy Percussion Revolver, #114057, .36 cal., 7-1/2'' blue barrel, blue cylinder, trigger screws and wedge; case hardened hammer, frame, and lever; brass backstrap and triggerguard, one-piece walnut grips, with all matching serial numbers, including full serial number on wedge. Correct barrel markings ''Address Col. Sam'l Colt, New-York, U.S. America-'', with pin front sight, correct thin type loading lever catch, late large type loading notch to right side of barrel lug, correct early frame with large percussion shield cut-out, typical Hartford knurling to top of hammer, large rounded brass triggerguard, and correct slim wooden grips with light flare at butt. Shipped to Palmers & Bachelders, Boston, MA, October 9, 1861, in a shipment of 100 guns. Cylinder shows full naval engagement scene and date, but is too late for the Ormsby signature. Small two-line Colt's Patent to left side of frame. Condition is about excellent !
retaining 90%+ blue to barrel assembly with some thinning and mild erosion to left side flat. Loading lever with vivid case hues at hinge, thinning and silvering at rod; top side is bright and vivid. Frame and hammer retain approx. 70%+ slightly muted case colored hues having turned silver at highpoints of recoil shield. Hammer with thinning and carbon spotting in the area that sits inside the back portion of frame; visible portions of hammer when closed are mostly bright and vivid with just some minor toning. Trigger retains over 90% original factory blue with very slight thinning at edges. Backstrap and triggerguard show very mellow toning with two small nicks in upward flare just behind the actual triggerguard itself. Grips with light general thinning to varnish and very minor losses at butt edge. Cylinder retains approx. 85% thinning and lightly toning blue, all touch holes are clear, all safety pins are present and sharp (save one which is somewhat flattened). !

All screw slots remain straight and true with the exception of the lower lever screw, which shows only the mildest deformation. This very early high condition Civil War era 1851 Colt Navy revolver does exhibit very slight wear from storage but remains virtually unused. Est.: $7,500-$10,000.
