This is a fine carver root ball war club with a nice early to antique age in the pattern of the upper New York Iroquois examples. The club shows a root ball carved with “D” shaped top, solid mostly straight handle with tapered foot all carved from tiger maple wood with nice figuring. There are high relief chip carvings and some old paint along with a pierced hole at the bottom which would held a wrist throng. The piece is adorned with later added brass metal tacking as well. A nice antique example that measures 23-inches in length and the ball being about 3-inches across.
