Early American style Naval Cutlass. 34” overall, 28” unmarked blade measuring approx. 1-1/2” across the Ricasso. The guard is simply forged iron with an oak-type grip which shows a copper and brass period inlay at the center. The blade is in good condition, shows some light to moderate pitting, generally very good overall. Although unmarked, this style cutlass is generally accepted as American Navy of the 1790 era.
