Early American oil portrait little girl w/dog
Measured inside the frame the dimensions of the painting are approximately 42 1/2" x 33 1/2". Unfortunately it is not in the greatest of condition. All three paintings I have listed were in a house without air conditioning for over 50 years and not well preserved. The painting has been relined, but could probably be relined again. Most of the damage is on the side opposite to the girl. There are a couple of rips and an area that is very rough. The little girl and face of the dog seem to be in fairly good condition. There appear to be a few patches. The painting is a very good painting. The little girl is holding a group of flowers accompanied by her dog. The head of the dog looks like the lion's head from the Wizard of Oz. There are flowers all throughout the painting that you might not be able to see in my pictures. To me the painting seems to be from around the mid 19th century. It is a great painting but it does need work. Most likely the original frame.
