<B>Early American Manuscript Note Regarding Indians,</B></I> one page, 6.5” x 3”, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, unsigned, January 17, 1799, to James G. Heron, n.p. It reads, “<I>Please issue for the use of the Indians five tomahawks.</B></I>” Heron was serving as an Army quartermaster. A seemingly odd note at first glance, one must remember that the United States did have Indian allies in its service. Very fine condition. <I>From the collection of Henry E.
