Early 1st Model Solid Frame Winchester Model 1890 Pump Action Rifle, #4286, .22 Short cal., 24'' octagon barrel, blue barrel and mag tube, case-hardened frame, fixed rear and sporting front sights, walnut stock and forend, with crescent steel buttplate. Mfg'd in 1891. Condition is very good as restored with approx. 90% salt blue finish to barrel and mag tube, with some witness marks to side flats between frame and rear sight. Case-hardened frame shows approx. 70% restored colors having turned somewhat silver to both side flats. All markings remain crisp and clear. Upper tang screw, tang sight filler screw, and lower tang strain screw are either replacements or show damage. Buttstock appears to have been grafted from a Model 1906 Winchester and needs proper fitting. Action is crisp, bore is very good with moderate frosting in grooves. An excellent candidate for re-restoration, as rifle maintains sharp edges, crisp markings, and is of a very scarce configuration. (W!
