Early 19th century three branch D guard officer’s sword of French origin made for U.S. market showing bright blue and gilt blade with American Eagle, stand of arms and A.W. Spies importers or agents name. The sword measures 36” overall with31” blade and remains in near fine condition with 80% to 90% bright blue and gilt on the blade. The blade shows most of its original bright polish and just some minor spotting with minor normal aging. The wire wrapped grip is also very good plus. The scabbard shows a few dents but is also very good plus with brass hangers. Spies of New York name is found on many Eagle head style swords but this Napoleonic Dragoon size is unusual with American motifs and may be unique. Est.: $2250-$4500
