Early 19th century flintlock pistol English made for export with lock marked “Oakes” showing iron barrel in approximately .69 caliber smoothbore with full stock. The pistol measures 15” over all with 9 3/8” medium weight round barrel withflattened top. The metal surfaces remain in good condition with some minor staining, slight pitting and normal aging. The hammer and small parts are all original. The top of the frizzen shows a chip and small loss of metal at the edge. The stock isgood with some dings, mars scratches and dents. The original ramrod is missing. There are a couple of small slivers of wood missing from the top edge of the forend. Just the type flintlock pistol imported into America from the early 1800sthrough the 1830s. Est.: $600-$1200
