Belgian Lancer Czapka dating late 1700s to early 1800s. The Czapka was first worn by Austrian forces in 1784 and continued to be in service by German, Austro-Hungarian, Belgian, and Russian lancers until the middle of WWI. Some French units also wore a similar design during the Napoleonic wars. Lancers were cavalry units that fought with little to no armor and wielded lances. This helmet belonged to the 10th Belgian regiment. Leather trim is damaged on both sides. Chin straps are in good shape. Overall good condition. Must see photos.
