<B>Early 1990's Neil Smith Game Worn Helmet.</B></I> Massive in both talent and physical presence, the All-American defensive end from Nebraska earned six Pro Bowl berths during his thirteen-season NFL career, nine years of which were spent with the Kansas City Chiefs. This battered "Air" brand helmet derives from the center of that midwestern tenure, and most likely specifically to the 1992 season, as a black sharpie inscription on the exterior shell reads, "To Ricky, Neil Smith, All Pro DE KC Chiefs, 1992 Al Pro." A second inscription to the same gentleman appears on the other side of the helmet as well, with all writing showing some wear but still quite legible. The use is superb, both inside and out, with heavy scuffing to the shell and to the full cage face mask, affixed with original clips and dual-side fasteners. Original chinstrap, complete with "Chiefs" decals to match that on the front bumper, is likewise present and affixed in Smith's preferred high hook-up position. Number "90" decal over left interior ear hole matches exemplars of the period. A finer example is difficult to imagine.
