Early 1970's Bob Lilly Game Worn Jersey. A numbe
Early 1970's Bob Lilly Game Worn Jersey. A number one draft choice of the new Cowboys' franchise during their second season in 1961, the TCU All-American went to play fourteen seasons in the Lone Star State, eleven of which were of Pro Bowl caliber. This late career representation exhibits solid wear from the Hall of Fame defensive lineman, particularly evident in the scuffing of the blue tackle twill identifiers and team repairs at the chest and shoulders. The unforgettable number "74" appears on chest, back and shoulders, where they straddle the line between mesh body and durene sleeves upon this tough "hybrid" style. "Lilly" is applied in blue tackle twill to a white satin twill plate across the shoulders. The Cowboys' local "Southland Athletic Mfg. Co." label appears inside collar, with size "48" flap tag affixed below. The package is tied up very neatly with the bow of a clearly vintage 7/10 blue marker inscription at the left end of the rear nameplate which reads, "To Bill from Bob Lilly #74 Cowboys." The player, the style, the wear and the first-person provenance delivered by the autograph conspire to make this a top-tier collectible for the cultured football jersey enthusiast. LOA from Lou Lampson.
