Early 1950's Notre Dame Game Worn Helmet. Almos
Early 1950's Notre Dame Game Worn Helmet. Almost certainly the oddest helmet ever worn on the gridiron by the Fighting Irish is this crazy yellow "Rawlings RH10" bubble-ear specimen with an even crazier clear yellow plastic face mask reminiscent of Hannibal Lecter's gear in "Silence of the Lambs." While any true Fighting Irish-man would likely balk at the color, it is a fact that Notre Dame briefly wore this "taxi cab yellow" color, as the gold paint would not adhere to the shell's surface, leading the team to abandon the style very soon afterwards. Padded leather interior shows strong use, and measures "7 1/8" in size. Face mask is affixed with original leather straps. No apparent player attribution. This is a piece for the Notre Dame collector who has it all. LOA from Lou Lampson.

Shipping: Miscellaneous Collectibles, Larg (view shipping information)
