Early 1920's Babe Ruth & Frank Baker Wire Photograph from the Frank "Home Run" Baker Collection. Though it was Baker who held the "Home Run" moniker, he was quoted in November of 1921 as saying of the Babe, "I hope he lives to hit one-hundred homers in a season. I wish him all the luck in the world. He has everybody else, including myself, hopelessly outclassed." This razor-sharp portrait of the Hall of Fame duo dates from either 1921 or 1922, the only seasons the pair shared a dugout. News service stamping is partially visible beneath the linen backing that suggests how important this image was to Baker, and it serves to minimize a 1.5" tear at the left side of the photo. Otherwise a few tiny, scattered wrinkles create the look of an EX image. Measures 6.5x8.5".
