Early 1900s Inuit Seal Skin Mittens
For your consideration is this pair of early 1900s seal skin Inuit mittens. These gloves are hand-stitched, soft and smooth showing a traditional arctic mitten made the Inuit, a member of an indigenous people of northern Canada and parts of Greenland and Alaska. The mittens show a tan color with spots of dark brown on the tops and a tan colored wool like fringe on the ends. These are meant to go over base gloves as the seal skin wicks away water keeping your hands dry for longer periods of time. The gloves show good condition overall with no signs of obvious damage present. The gloves measure 9 1/4" L x 5 1/2" W.
