Extremely rare! Original photograph by Martin Behrman. 70" panorama. 1900 copy taken from the original plates. Identifies Folsom Street, Sutter House, Vulcan Foundry, Portable Houses, Market Street, Lone Mountain, Rincon Hill, etc. Perhaps the most striking feature is the hundreds of abandoned ships in the bay. This 1851 view of San Francisco was made with eleven daguerreotype plates. At least six of the original plates no longer exist [Library of Congress]. Plates taped together, but each plate is in very good condition! Burger CollectionCity: San FranciscoCounty: San FranciscoState: CADate: 1851/1910
