Whenever an emergency threatens, you can be sure that Roy DeSoto, John Gage, and all the guys from Squad 51, will be there to help. This classic NBC drama aired Saturday nights from 1972 to 1977, and is still fondly remembered by fans worldwide. Capitalizing on the ratings success of this popular show, Charlton comics released both comic and magazine versions in 1976. The cover offered here, showing John and Roy rescuing a man from a burning car, is from the magazine run. Measuring approximately 25" x 20" overall, with an approximate image area of 21" x 16.5", the piece was painted by Earl Norem, one of the foremost magazine cover artists of the 70s and 80s, best known for his Marvel work. In excellent condition, the painting has been signed by the artist in the lower right. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour.
