Earl Moran Pin-Up Calendar Pages for Kessler Beer
Featured in this lot are four (4) 1951 Earl Moran Pin-Up Calendar Pages for Kessler Brewing Company of Helena, Montana. Months include July, August, September and October. Printed by Brown & Bigelow of St. Paul, Minnesota, each month had a different "title" for the model. In an interesting association, Kessler included a paragraph of Montana historical information right below the pin-up image, followed by a sales pitch for their beer. Earl Moran was a noted American 20th-century pin-up and glamour artist. Moran signed an exclusive contract with Brown and Bigelow in 1932 and by 1937, his pinups had sold millions of calendars for the company. In 1940, Life ran a feature article entitled "Speaking of Pictures" which mostly focused on Moran's work and made him a national celebrity. The calendar pages are made of heavy card stock making them rigid and suitable for wall hanging. These calendars are in good overall condition, with some creasing, age tanning visible. Each measures 10"L x 4.75"W.*
