Eagle (31.5 H) by Jules Moigniez
This large eagle is widely considered as one of the best sculpures of a bird of prey. Because it is signed "Moigniez" in the bronze, it is commonly attributed to the 19th Century French sculptor Jules Moigniez.

Most people are surprised to learn, therefore, that this piece was actually sculpted by California artist Max Turner in the late 1960's. An art dealer took it upon himself to add the "Moigniez" signature to boost early sales of the piece. Max, in fact, created most of the bronzes that contributed to building Moigniez's worldwide reputation as a master of the animal genre.

We are privileged to work closely with Max Turner on his new sculptures and to benefit from his advice regarding castings of his earlier pieces, such as this magnificent "Eagle."

The eagle is mounted onto a marble base, stands 31.5" high by 18.5" wide, and is signed "J Moigniez" in the bronze. It has been crafted from the finest pure bronze, and finished with a gorgeous patina permanently fused into the metal under extreme heat.

There are many eagle bronzes available, but none finer than this beautiful work of art. Its quality ensures that it will last to be treasured for many hundreds of years.
