<B>EXTRAORDINARY RUTILATED STAR</B></I><BR> <I>Minas Gerais, Brazil</B></I><BR>Rutilated Quartz refers to quartz crystals with golden inclusions of rutile needles. Occasionally, in very rare instances, these rutile needles emanate from a hematite crystal to form a geometric "star". Rutilated quartz stars are an extremely rare occurrence, less than 2% of all rutilated quartz gemstones display a "star". A well centered, six sided star fills the entirety of this fine gemstone. Bright, broad golden bands of rutile needles form a "star" which can be easily seen through the clear quartz body. This rare gemstone is quite sizable at 46.3 x 35.2 mm.
