INSPECTED NAVY MODEL REVOLVER. Cal. 36. S# 1252 (found on right inside of backstrap). Bbl. 7 1/8" octagon with brass cone style front sight. Six shot round cylinder. Hinged type loading lever. Distinctive heart shaped trigger guard with ring cocking lever. Blue finish with case colored loading lever, hammer, trigger guard, cocking lever & trigger. Two piece walnut grips. Left grip has clear "GT" cartouche. Right grip has "WCT" cartouche. Bbl., frame & loading lever have "T" inspector's stamp. Of about 20,000 manufactured 1861-mid 1860s, 11,984 were purchased under contract by the U.S. army & navy. CONDITION: very fine, as issued. Bbl. retains over 80% bright blue showing edgewear & small marks. Cylinder & frame have 60% dull blue fading to brown. Case colored parts retain 70% lightly faded finish. Grips have good original finish showing light wear & marks. Sound action. Bore is bright with sharp rifling showing small spots near muzzle.
