The “Father of Art Deco,” was born in St. Petersburg. He was a fashion illustrator in the ‘20s and creator of visual spectacle for French music-hall revues. Erté was designer for stars Lillian Gish, Josephine Baker, Anna Pavlova and others. He later extended his art to include sculpture, most notably in bronze, which are displayed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY and London. Offered is a superb limited edition color embossed seriograph with foil stamping entitled <i>Moon Garden</i>, signed in bold pencil by the artist and numbered 233/250 in Roman Numerals at lower margin. Overall 38½"x29". Tiny tear at bottom paper with no paper loss; o/w Fine. Unframed. Of the 250 prints made, 125 were destroyed by fire or water damaged. Very desirable.</span></p>

1. Auction Catalogue No. 19 is a Mail, Fax, Phone, Email and
Internet Live Bid Auction and is conducted under the laws of the State
of West Virginia by Gil Griggs, Licensee of Charleston, W. V. License
No. 002.
2. Absentee bid closing date is April 5th, 2002, 10:00 PM EST.
3. There is a 15% Buyer’s Premium charged on the final hammer price
of each lot. An additional 2½% Premium will be added to any lots
purchased through ebayliveauctions.com.
4. The Auctioneer reserves the right to reject any bid for any
reason.

6. In the event of duplicate high bids, the earliest bid received
will be the winner.

14. Golden Guarantee: All material is returnable within seven day
providing that it comes back in the same condition. There is a

expert authenticators acceptable to both parties.
