<hr align=left size=5 width=33% color=#778899>(1899-1961). Classic novelist and short-story writer whose writings and personal life exerted a profound influence on American writers of his time. He was recipient of both the Nobel Prize for Literature and Pulitzer Prize. An AirMail envelope postmarked at Sun Valley, ID, Mar 13, 1959. Boldly signed “<i>E. Hemingway</i>” in the return address at “<i>Ketchum Idaho</i>” and addressed in his holograph to “<i>Mr. James Starnes...Kountze Texas</i>.” Boldly penned. Left border torn from opening away from signature; tiny tears at right edge with no paper loss; light wear; o/w VG. Hemingway was decorated for heroism in 1918 after being wounded in World War I. As a war correspondent in WW II, he took part in the D-day landings in 1944. His works include <i>The Sun Also Rises</i> (1926) and <i>A Farewell to Arms</i> (1929).
