<p><b><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial; color:windowtext'>[ELEANOR ROOSEVELT] </span></b><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:windowtext'><BR><BR></span><b><span style='font-size:14.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:windowtext;text-transform: uppercase'>Eleanor’s Charge Plate</span></b><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:windowtext'><BR><BR>A metal charge plate issued by the prestigious department store Bloomingdale’s to “<i>MRS F D ROOSEVELT THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON D C 79R 320 B</i>” In very good condition, the plate is contained in original leather carrying case embossed “<i>Bloomingdale’s</i>,” also in good condition. Obtained from the estate of Edgar and Anna McGowan, both of whom served the Roosevelt family at Campobello Island until the mid-fifties, Edgar as groundskeeper and Anna as head of household staff. After Anna’s death in 1955, the items remained in her family until an early 2000 auction. Included is a photocopy of a 1945 Notice of Probate concerning FDR’s estate mentioning Mrs. McGowan as a beneficiary.</span></p>

1. Auction Catalogue No. 19 is a Mail, Fax, Phone, Email and
Internet Live Bid Auction and is conducted under the laws of the State
of West Virginia by Gil Griggs, Licensee of Charleston, W. V. License
No. 002.
2. Absentee bid closing date is April 5th, 2002, 10:00 PM EST.
3. There is a 15% Buyer’s Premium charged on the final hammer price
of each lot. An additional 2½% Premium will be added to any lots
purchased through ebayliveauctions.com.
4. The Auctioneer reserves the right to reject any bid for any
reason.

6. In the event of duplicate high bids, the earliest bid received
will be the winner.

to Signature House. Payment must be made in U.S. funds. Wire transfer
details are available upon request. West Virginia residents will pay a
sales tax of 6% unless a resale number is filed with us prior to the closing date. For sales outside of the USA a

providing that it comes back in the same condition. There is a
