Good content T.L.S. as Allied Supreme Commander, 1p. 8vo., Allied Force Headquarters, Nov. 19, 1943 to a woman in Yorkshire thanking her for ""...the English farthing that you enclosed for luck. I will put it among my other luck coins and I feel sure it cannot fail to bring good fortune to our cause; especially as it comes from England to an American, and will be a symbol me of the strength of our national partnership in this war..."" Heavy creases with slight tears at margins, moderate soiling, otherwise very good. Together with a rubber stamped typed letter of Neville Chamberlain, 1p. 4to., London, Oct. 21, 1938 thanking a woman for her encouraging words. Overall good condition. Two pieces.
