This cane has a rounded knob of elephant ivory which is 1.75" in diameter and high, the stepped malacca shaft endsin a 4" long brass and steel ferrule. It has a narrow (approx. 1/3") coin silver collar, coin silver oval eyelets and a .5"collar at single step in malacca shaft. Both collars have roping ornamentation. Wear to ferrule, some wear of shaftfinish. Overall length nearly 36". All of these elements are typical of the earliest surviving canes.(EST 600-800)
