ECUADOR A Lot of Eight Receipts 1780s-1790s Hand written on printed base.
Pre-Independance Receipts. Hand written on printed base. There are two types here, four of each. The larger type measures c. 7-8 x 10-11 cm, roughly cut. There is a central Royal Seal, with the city of issue printed beneath. One is Quito, one Tacunga, one Ambato, and one is Hambato, probably an alternate spelling for the previous. The one from Tacunga is actually an uncut double, but isued to two different people. The lower part is badly torn, about 2/3 across. There is a hand stamp of an Anchor, in the lower right corner of every example , which also appears on the smaller type. These measure c. 5 x 10.5 - 11 cm .Two of these have the Royal Seal stamped at the lower left, two have a religious seal. These have no printed elements, and are entirely hand written. All these documents appear to be receipts, each to a named individual, possibly for payment of taxes or church titles.
