"ECLIPSE". This superb oval cast brass nameplate (251/2"x171/4"), with its GWR shield, was carried by the GWR '3300 Bulldog' class 4-4-0 locomotive GWR 3334 built at Swindon as Works No. 1745 in November 1899 at a cost of ú1,174 plus ú406 for the 2500 gallons tender. Initially allocated to Weymouth she was superheated in June 1912 and renumbered 3322 on 28th December 1912. She was shedded at Shrewsbury 1915-18; Stafford Road 1919-24; Oxley 1925-26; Gloucester 1930 until withdrawal in April 1935 to be cut up at Swindon. Face-polished only, with its number '3334' stamped twice into the ex-loco back.
