Cal. 22 LR. S# 6718. Bbl. 22 1/8". Model 57 bolt action rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1927. The left side of the bbl. is marked with the model designation, followed by the Winchester trademark logo, and cal. designation, with Winchester's mfg. and patent information marked on the right. Right side of the receiver is marked with the S#. Left side of the bbl. band is marked "PAT./ JAN.25.21". Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bolt body, which is polished in-the-white. 1-piece plain wood pistol grip buttstock, with flat checkered steel buttplate. Standard blade front sight, with flip-up V-notch rear sight, and unmarked aperture rear sight mounted on the left side of the receiver. Sling loop on underside of butt is absent. MAGS: 1 blued 5-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain fair to good amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning that shows through to brown patina overall. Bbl. exhibits areas of mild pitting at and around the muzzle. Bolt exhibits some spots of age related discoloration. Very bright bore, exhibiting some spots of light to mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Wood stock shows scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (25-1794/MLW). CURIO. $300-400.
