EARLY VIOLIN WITH WOODEN CASE
EARLY VIOLIN WITH WOODEN CASE: Violin with ''Antonius Stradivarius, Cremona'' label has a warm patina showing years of usage. The case of the violin appears to be mahogany with the original finish. A black painted wooden case with stenciling indicating ''Salem NC'' and the initial ''E'' overlaid with an ''A'', is used to store the violin. The bow, tuning and maintenance accessories are stored in the case. A note describing provenance indicates that the violin was ''bought by Grandpa Hauser in 1870 and given to Donald Hauser November 24, 1919 in Seattle''. The violin and bow need restoration as seen. Case shows some mold issues on the interior, as well as overall wear. One hardware clasp needs to be re-attached. Case 30.5''L 6''H 9.5''W. Violin 23.5''L 1.5''H 8''W.
