EARLY TALL CASE CLOCK. Refinished cherry with pine secondary wood. Brass works have a stamped signature "James Hawthorn, Newcastle Upon Tyne, 1816". Small turned feet with inset panels on the base and a molded waist. Chamfered corners on the case and molded edges on the door. Dovetailed hood with freestanding pilasters and scrolled goosenecks on the top. Triangular finials, goosenecks, hinges, and the minute hand are replaced. Face retains the original painted decoration and a rotating man in the moon dial. Includes weights and a pendulum. 93"h.
