EARLY SMITH & WESSON PRE-MODEL 29 REVOLVER.

Cal. 44 Mag. S# S171659. Bbl. 6.5". Mfg. 1956-1957. Double action revolver built on the square butt, 4 screw, N-Target frame. Blued finish. 6-shot fluted cylinder. Wide .500" target hammer w/ checkered spur & .500" serrated target hammer. Red ramp insert front & white outline rear micrometer click adjustable sights. Shrouded extractor w/ knurled tip. Single diamond, checkered "Coke Bottle" grips w/ S&W medallions. 10-groove, serrated front strap & backstrap. Left side of barrel marked; "Smith & Wesson" while right side marked; "44 Magnum". Serial number stamped on bottom of grip frame matches number stamped inside of yoke, on rear cylinder face & under the extractor star. CONDITION: All outward appearances indicate very little use. Complete & consistent coverage on what appears to be original finish w/ only a thin drag line on cylinder. Grips illustrate no noticeable blemishing aside from a small area of rounded checkering on left grip under close inspection. Bright bore w/ strong rifling. (23-735/JZ). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
