(EARLY PHILADELPHIA LAND TRANFER)
Interesting early deed of transfer, 1p. folio parchment, [Philadelphia], Mar. 5, 1695, in which Samuel Bonnott sells a: "…plantation and tract of land within the said County…" for the sum of 75 pounds to a David Potts. Signed by Bonnott at bottom, also signed on verso by Pennsylvania settler and W. Penn associate JOHN CLAYPOOLE. Interestingly records show that Bonnott bought tracts of land directly from William Penn when the later was selling plots of recently acquired Indian land in England. This transaction therefore is part of the early founding of Philadelphia. Folds and expected wear, overall good.
