A very nice early scrimshaw cane with nice bulbous walrus ivory knob with inlaid baleen button at top. The 3.25"handle is mounted on a nicely patinated rosewood shaft, which is hexagonal near the handle and tapers to round witha hexagonal silver-plated brass mounting band and 2.75" brass & steel ferrule. Total length 34.5".nice old, probably original finish, silver on band is worn.(EST 600-800)
