Mid to late 1800’s Calvary style bit that has been embellished with engraved silver conchos , inlaid silver bars on the S shank sides and inlaid silver just below the bridle slots.Conchos are 2 ¼ “ and engraved with a floral pattern. Only Two of the four pins securing the conchos are original to the bit which once displayed a US insignia where the conchos are mounted, also one concho has an additional unused open hole possibly from a previous mounting , one of the cheeks is slightly out of alignment, the lip bar is a straight round metal rod possibly not original to the bit. The mouth measures at 4 ¾ “ and has a single copper roller, the length from the top of the bridle slots to the lip bar is 8”, bit has 12” set of rein chains. Date: City: State: HWAC# 56238
