<td width="100%">
This is a rare Opalotype photo of a military soldier probably from the early 1900s. It is handcolored on milk glass and both the brass frame and the photo are in excellent condition. I believe this soldier is from either the Spanish-American war or right before World War I. I cannot tell exactly what buttons are on his uniform so I don't know the service or the exact year. An Opalotype is an obsolete printing process in which a carbon process image is transferred to a piece of milk glass. This process was started in the mid 1800s and ran to the early 1900s. We bought this in the frame it is in and it does have a convex glass, which is the only reason that this picture is not scratched or damaged.
