EARLY 18TH CENTURY CONTINENTAL FLINTLOCK PISTOL.
Cal. 60. NSN. Bbl. 14 1/2" caliber rnd. flared bbl. w/ raised relief decoration at breech & unknown makers mark on tang. Elegant 21 1/2" Mediterranean flintlock pistol w/ chiseled & engraved mts. & moldings. Chiseled iron trigger guard, cast pierced sideplate & thumbplate, butt has grotesque mask decoration, horn nose cap. Stock has molded design rear of tang, checkered forestock. CONDITION: good to very good overall, well worn, iron mottled gray patina, sideplate poorly fit w/ repair at front screw, buttcap has mixed patina w/ traces of silver plate. Walnut stock has hand worn patina w/ striping. There is a chip on left side of bbl. at muzzle. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of John "Tim" Breth Jr. (01-17772/JS). ANTIQUE. $800-1,200.
