The Solar pattern was made by The U.S. Glass Company of Pittsburgh, PA Circa 1908. The company was in business from 1891 - 1963. They were a consolidation of many factories which produced a vast array of glass during it's years of production. This compote was originally called US Glass No. 15116 or 15150 depending on which book you look at. In The Collectors Encylopedia of Pattern Glass, plate 102 it is noted as 15116. In The Standard Encyclopedia of Pressed Glass it is noted as No. 15150. The pattern is also known as Feather Swirl. This compote is 9" tall to the top of the lid finial, 4-1/2" tall with out the lid and 7-1/2" in diameter. The floral petal foot is 4-3/4" in diameter. The glass is especially clear and while there may be some bubbles and straw marks there are no chips, flakes or cracks.
