<td width="100%">
This is a beautiful tooth pick holder in the Thousand Eye pattern made by Richards & Hartley of Tarentum, PA circa 1880. The pattern was continued by The United States Glass Co. after their merger of 1891. The original name of this pattern was Richards & Hartley No. 103-Daisy. The pattern was also made by Adams & Company of Pittsburgh, PA but theirs had a 3 knob configuration somewhere on the pattern. Either on the standard or a finial or stopper. Richards & Hartley was more plain with scalloped feet. This toothpick is more squat in fitting with the Richards & Hartley pattern. This canary color toothpick is 2-1/4" tall and 2-1/4" in diameter. There are a total of 5 rows of 1000 eyes with very sharp diamonds between them and 15 eyes in each row. In the 1880's Canary was the original name for this color, while Vaseline came later in the 1920's. While many glass pieces will fluoresce, the Canary or Vaseline glass must be yellow/green to begin with. There may be some bubbles and straw marks but there are no chips, flakes or cracks.
