<td width="100%">
This is a great little child's mug made by either Atterbury Glass Co. or Challinor, Taylor and Co. both of Pittsburgh, PA circa 1881. The purple marble glass mug has a pattern of birds with nests. One nest has eggs and the other nest has young. Each is surrounded with lush growth of leaves and flowers. The suprise comes when you look at the bottom. It has an impression of a cat! I'm sure just lurking around waiting for a chance to strike. I have not seen a mug with a cat on the bottom like this before. The last photo shows the cat and you can barely see it but it is better in person. This mug is 3-1/4" tall, 3" in diameter at the rim (plus the handle) and the bottom ring is 2-7/8" in diameter. The marbling is beautiful. There may be some straw marks but there are no chips, flakes or cracks.
