This is a beautiful compote. According to The Collectors Encyclopedia of Pattern Glass by Molly Helen McCain. plate 95, this pattern is called Bowline. She does not identify the maker but it was probably made in the 1880's. This compote has a paneled Bead or Hobnail with a Diamond pattern. It stands 10" tall and is 6" in diameter at the rim. The cupped foot is 4-1/8" in diameter and shows a lot of good honest wear. The patterned standard is attached to the bowl with a wafer. The lid has a scalloped rim and the finial matches the pattern of the standard. There may be some bubbles and straw marks but there are no chips, flakes or cracks.
