This is a beautiful reproduction Magnet and Grape pedestaled sugar bowl with lid. This sugar bowl was made by The Imperial Glass Corp. of Bellaire, OH circa 1976 for The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This is some of the best work to come out of the Imperial factory ever. The pitcher is 9" tall to the top of the lid, (6-1/4" without lid), and 4-1/4" in diameter at the rim. The foot is 4" in diameter. The bunch of grape and the leaf are frosted on the bowl and also on the lid. The sugar is embossed with MMA on the pedestal at the base of the bowl and on the inside of the lid. This sugar is substantial and a beautiful cobalt blue color. The bowl is 3-1/2" deep. There may be some bubbles and straw marks but there are no chips, flakes or cracks. The MMA had a lot of items produced for the American Bi-Centennial in the mid 70's into the 80's and all are of high quality and made in the same manner as the originals. The original of this pattern was made by The Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. of Sandwich, MA circa 1860.
